Ingredients

  • 4 beef top sirloin steaks (6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • SAUCE:
  • 1 jar (4-1/2 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 1/2 cup French onion dip
  • 2 tablespoons half-and-half cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced chives
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • 1. Sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper. Grill steaks, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from heat for 5-7 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°).
  • 2. In a large skillet, saute mushrooms and garlic in oil for 3 minutes. Stir in the onion dip, cream, chives and pepper. Bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Serve with steaks.
