Overnight Flax Oatmeal

Fans of the healthy benefits of flaxseed will enjoy this hearty oatmeal. It's full of yummy raisins and dried cranberries, too.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon molasses
  • Optional: Sliced almonds, whole milk and additional molasses

Instructions

  • 1. In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until liquid is absorbed and oatmeal is tender. If desired, top with sliced almonds, whole milk and additional molasses.
